Military Spouse/Educator Looking to telecommute

I am just going to put this out there....I hold a Masters degree in education, have 10 years of work experience and I am looking for a part time or full time role I can fulfill from my home office.

Over the past 10 years I have worked very hard to stay current in my career through 4 moves (4 different cities) as the Marine Corps has moved us. I am educated, intelligent and hard working but even with all of that going for me, it has been a challenge.

Any role I take on needs to be able to travel with me. I am not able to interview and tell an employer I will be around for years. If I am lucky it is 2-3 years at best.

I am passionate about education, online learning and improving schools. Like so many other professional moms, I just want a chance to use my talent for good. I just happen to also need to do it from my home office :) Thank you for any leads or comments.

Hi Kelly, I am a military wife that has also moved our family around too many times! I feel I am in a similar boat to you as far as using personal talents and creativity to earn a little (or a lot) of money. I am doing a couple things that I hope in the long run will work out. One is The Customer Advantage - you may have checked it out - It's an upcoming group coupon site that shares HALF of its profits with its members. So it's all about signing up to recieve the emailed daily discounts (like Groupon) - and then to make it an income booster - you share your site with others. When they sign up and make a coupon purchase - you earn 5%. It seems small - but it will add up. It's totally free - no obligations - no risk involved - so I said what the heck - i'm in. I hear it is set to test launch in Seattle this month. You don't need to live in a big city to benefit and moving around is just fine. Also, i am doing another crazy thing called the Essante Team Builders. It is guarantees that by month 10 - everyone in the coop will be earning at least $2000 - or you get your monthly fee $29 back minus any profits. It looks a little crazy - but the organic products are fabulous  -so i am willing to give it a shot. I am also going to start a website detailing these adventures and helping people connect with home based businesses. SO - that's my craziness

Maybe you could start an online tutoring program or find schools that need online teachers. Many school districts are cutting back on actual classrooms and replacing them with online classes. sign of the times, i guess.

good luck and let me know what routes you take!

Thanks for the tips. I have been lucky to find little things to do. I just wish I could find something full time. I teach online part time (teacher professional development) and just started doing the same thing for another company. The thing is that it is sporadic and no gurantee I'll have a class to teach. Many adjunct online positions require a doctorate which I don't have or some face to face teaching too. I'll keep plugging away at it :)

Hi Kelly,

I can't imagine moving around so often.  I do work with a lot of Military Wives that do move around like you do and got tired of starting over at every new location they went to.

There is a growing desire/need for moms to work from home to either leave Corporate America or for Stay At Home Moms to begin working to help supplement the household income.  I work with a team that specializes in helping moms earn an income from home.  If you are open, I'd be happy to share some information with you.  You can either send me a personal message or check out this link to get you some details.  www.CeoMomCareer.com

To your success!

Hi Kelly

You may also want to check out www.jobprosper.com - it's a site that lists work from home and flexible (telecommuting) opportunities.  You may be able to find something good to meet your needs!  Good luck in your search!

Kelly - Check out the National Military Spouse Network http://nationalmilitaryspousenetwork.org/ and also Krista Wells The Military Spouse Coach http://militaryspousecoach.com/.  Both have great resources for you
Thank you Carol.
Hi my name is Bridget. I'm a single mom and I work at home. I have something to offer but it isnt with education. I dont know if you would be interested. The oppertunity I have to offer is a marketing position. It's for an all nautral pharmecuticul company. They have been around for 26 years. DEBT FREE !!! Its amazeing. Another great benefit of this company is that when you have to move its ok you dont have to start over in the jon hunt. This job moves with you. If you are still looking at options and would consider talking with me I would be honored to help you. But if I'm responding to late and you are not looking I'm sorry. I would however  like to be your friend. I'm pretty new to the being a mom. I only have one and she is 19 months old. She is my world. Well I hope to hear back. Thanks for your time. Bridget

Have you ever thought about selling Tupperware. Tupperware always you to have flexable hours and the sky is the limit with how much money you can make! You can sell any where you live, so it is a good job to have if you travel. Let me know if you would like more details http://my2.tupperware.com/Gaynor !

Dear Kelly,  I have been an educator for 20 years and have found work which I think might be a good fit for you.  It can be done full time on line, so it could fit your needs well. The best fit for this work is someone who has great people skills and enjoys helping others.  Being a long-time educator, you surely fit  that description! Let me know if you'd like to hear more about it!  Jennifer
I would like to hear more if you have a moment.
