Working Mother's Social Network | MyWorkButterfly

Whew! It's been quite a hectic month - but then again - doesn't every month have it's share of busyness? Sometimes I feel like a pinball - I'm propelled into the day and then just seem to bounce off one thing as I collide into the next. No matter how often I tell myself 'tomorrow will be different' the madness continues. I was pondering this fact and realized that for anything to change, we must commit to making that change.

So it goes with our prayers, huh? We learn of an 8-year old who is fighting for her life in a local children's hospital or the 85 year-old unfamiliar and frightened in his home of 40 years or the young woman who attempted to take her life because she can't stand the pressure. We offer our cursory "I'll pray for you". With a squeeze and a smile, we're rushing off to our next encounter.

Do we remember to pray when we say we will? Is it enough to just say 'I'll pray' or do we really have to do it? Does the Lord know (or care) if we really do it? I can only answer for myself, but I believe that if we say it, we oughta do it!

The really cool thing is - if we make the effort to pray, we benefit, too. It forces us to stop the madness, be still and focus. And, one prayer just seems to lead to another, and another, and another. Eventually we realize - we've changed.

Want to pray with us? Join my group "Praying Moms". We've even started praying in local businesses - hey, nothing else seems to be "stimulating" the small business sector. Why not start "Alive to Thrive" or "Tapestry" in your community and watch the miracles happen! Contact me and I'll share more!

Sounds very interesting, Pam. Prayer has helped me focus, and I can sure use some too!

Hi Janet - Geez - you really have your hands FULL! While this is such a time of trial, you will get through this and I can say you are an inspiration to many of us!! Please journal your journey here so we can celebrate with you when you are walking all by yourself. Rest assured- you now have someone in New Jersey praying for you every day. Let me know specifically what your prayer requests are from day to day. Don't forget to join my group. I would imagine as tough as things are, you are forced to 'be still'! That can be even more challenging as your brain is whirling with a million things you should, could or rather do. Still yourself with a prayer - not only for yourself and your precious baby, but for those around you and on this site. You can be a prayer warrior! Then, you'll be doubly blessed!
Hang in there and if you need anything - make your requests known here and you may be amazed by the outpouring of women who want to help you. Hugs, Pam
