If I am feeling really overwhelmed and need to laugh it off, I like to visit youtube.com and search for a funny video or just check out the top rated videos. A quick way to get a laugh off youtube.... search for american idol reject videos (william hung never gets old!).

I like to surround myself with people who have a great sense of humor - like B-Girls Leigh Abbott, Lisa LaShell and Charlene Conroy. If you have trouble laughing - get yourself among people who see the bright side of situations. Even in the most stressful of situations there is something to smile about.
Helping women to recover from addictions, and make the difficult changes that involves is super stressful. That's why I prefer to work in places where people laugh often. We laugh at ourselves a lot here!!
I find that the best medicine for stress is laughter! I try to keep the laughter going and surround myself with happy, smiling people because unhappiness is not an option for me. Another great way to de-stress is to try hugging your children. They are the loves of your life and when you see them after a long, crazy day, the hugs and squeals of joy will put the biggest smile on your face. And if all else still has not gotten you into a better place, try putting on your iPod with all your favorite songs. Singing and dancing to your favorite music is a perfect way to get you into a better place or help you keep that positive, upbeat frame of mind! And a little exercise never hurt anyone!
Way late in posting... but laughing is key. Why, just the mere thought of Charlene and I fall off chair laughing, as stress melts away. I have a friend w/ MS, and laughing about her circumstance is both a defense and catharsis. Did you ever notice that even in the worst of times, someone- somewhere has an inappropriately-timed giggle fit? Even your brain tells you to lighten up.
How is the BIRTHDAY GIRL??? I have been dying to talk to you! Were you surprised? Your mom is AWESOME!!! I was SOOOOOOO sorry I could not be there (yes they invited me too!) but I am a prisoner here due to staffing (ahem) shall we say issues?
