Yes, Danielle I definitely feel your pain. I was laid off in June of '09 too and have yet to land a job. The one I like is you have too much experience and if we hire you, when things pick up you will be the first one to leave, so no we can't hire you. Or you go back later to a grocery store and they just told you no we don't need anyone just to find out they hired someone a lot younger than your 50 years young! Or better yet, do you have any recent job experience, and you are like hello I was laid off in June of '09!! Are you receiving unemployment right now? Good luck to you, I keep waiting for things in the economy to pick up but I am not holding my breath. Take care, Danielle.

I was laid off in June '09 (June 11th to be exact, a date I don't think I'll ever forget). My job search has been filled with highs and lows. The highs - I've had several interviews either in-person or via phone. The lows - no job yet. I feel blessed that I've had interviews but for many reasons (I'll name a few, job description changes, decided not to fill job, I didn't have enough experience in X or Y) haven't been able to land the job yet. Is anyone else experiencing this?
