It's sad when the last child leaves for college. However, they come home. And they are suppose to leave the nest. Hopefully you son will find a job on the coast you are on.

My son is a senior at MU and my daughter will be heading off to school in 1 1/2 year. I think its going to be different sending my daughter off school. One because she is a girl and two the nest will be empty (unless my son moves back home). That though only just crossed my mind. I don't think he will move home--hoping he'll work and have his own place. That may be challenging in this market.
