Working Mother's Social Network | MyWorkButterfly

Hello!  I just recently found this website and am still exploring the content of the pages within.  When I first started a home-based business the help that is now readily available was not then.  I am just so awed by the amount of information that is on the internet but I'm also mistified as to how it all works expecially blogs and facebook.  I hear you need to start these things in order to have a successful business presence and business.  I have selected a network marketing business that I think will absolutely just take off because it's not asking you to switch products or saying that one is greater than next.  It's having you use what you already use - groceries.  In these hard economic times who couldn't use help with that?

However, after you've selected your business what is your next step?  I don't want to pay for leads to get the word out so what are the different advertising venues that can be used to get that word out?  What's a good marketing strategy?  How do you start a blog?  Where do you get the info. that you use on your blog?  Do you come up with the info. all on your own or can you borrow from other sites?  How do busines blogs work?  How does Facebook for businesses?  I am not getting the picture of how this all works together.  Could someone help me?

If you would like to look at my business, it is at www.mpbtoday.com/dee.  Walmart and Sams will be glad you did.  If you have any questions about it don't hesitate to call me or email me.

Hi DeAnna...
How is your business working out for you? I viewed your website you posted but dont know what you business is. I would say that to start marketing yourself, first you have to get an idea of your key demographic, and find a way to contact them. The cheapest easiest way would be word of mouth advertising and networking, then you can have house parties depending on the nature of your business. You may also be able to take out a small ad in your local newspaper to announce your business and reach new clientelle, or prospective leads.

Whenever advertising yourself, always remember to share your business opportunity with them. Before closing the conversation, let them know how your venture is working for you, citing the positives, and offer them the opportunity to do the same, working from home, on their own time. Or you can highlight that it would be a good way to make extra money in their spare time.

I know that my response is about 3 months after your original post, but I hope this helps in some way! =)

Best of luck in your venture!!

Dee,

It has been a while, almost a year since you posted this and I see no one has responded to you.  When you start a new business venture, you should always start with your warm market and make out a refrigerator list, people that you know well, people that would come over and help themselves to something in the fridge because they felt that comfortable at your house.  This will get the quickest results.  Once you start working through your warm market, then you will need to learn the art of marketing but your upline should have a very simple system that you can duplicate.  I do not recommend purchased leads.  They are expensive and have a very low conversion rate.  You can market online using social media like Facebook and Twitter but you have to be careful about spamming.  You should always adhere to the 80/20 rule where you share your business 20% of the time and 80% provide value.  No one wants to hear about your business opportunity 24/7.  You really have to know what you are doing to market on Facebook to generate leads.  My team does extensive Facebook training that produces incredible results.  You can do local marketing using postcards that you leave where ever you go.  The best place for this is http://www.vistaprint.com/free where you can buy postcards for free and just pay shipping.

As far as blogs are concerned, there are a lot of options and blogs are very time consuming and will not bring you leads. You can't post articles and expect to have leads pouring in.  Blogs should be saved for when you have a story to share about your success so that people have a reason to join you.  When you create a story worth telling then starting a blog is just the next step in creating your brand.  To build your business you will need to start with your warm market and then use the system that your upline has in place to build your business.

I hope this is helpful.  Are you still with the company you mentioned in your post?

Wishing you lots of success,

April
