A little about yourself...
I am the Executive Director of the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation a non-profit organization. The organization was founded by friends of Nancy Block-Zenna, a young woman from Bergen County who died from the disease in 2007. The foundation's mission is to raise awareness of the disease and much needed funds for research.

Dear Allison Axenrod,
I am a research scientist in Paris, France. Recent studies from my lab have identified a novel protein that we have called ATIP3, whose expression is strongly down-regulated in triple negative breast cancer. Our studies have shown that ATIP3 re-expression into breast cancer cells leads to reduced proliferation, and I suspect this protein to also have anti-metastatic effects. This protein is thus a good candidate for novel anti-TNBC targeted therapies, but I need to raise money to continue this research project in my lab and the economic situation in France is difficult. I found your website by the internet, and I wonder whether your foundation would also support research from labs like mice, located outside the States. Please let me know where I can find your application forms for scientific projects.
From a personal point of view I also support the idea of "mums going back to work", as I fell in the coma while my two daughters were still kids (5 and 11 years old), I woke up paralyzed (I am still in a wheeling chair) and spent one year at he hospital before going back to the lab despite the difficulties to continue my research projects on TNBC. I actually wrote a book on my personal experience (unfortunately not translated in English!!)

Thanks for your consideration
Clara Nahmias
PS. Happy birthday!! (a little late)

Hi Allison,
Thanks for a great interview today. So proud to feature TNBC this October on the site. Your group is such an inspiration to women with the disease, their family members and to other moms looking to give back.
Very Best,
Bradi Nathan
