Hi Beth, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I see you were successful in getting in touch with Julie C. I truly believe she can help guide you in the right direction. OK, how can I help? Well when I re-read you first email, the first question I have is are you happy doing massage therapy? I understand the economy has changed your financial success at it, but if you enjoy it, I think it would be important to continue it and tough out the financial burden we all feel. Maybe find a part time gig to subsides your income in the meantime. You said that you have done a lot of things, but feel like you have not mastered any of them, is that because you get bored easily? because you don't like a challenge? because you don't stick with things long enough, a bit avoidant? How do you identify what satisfaction is? are your expectations realistic? The way you answer these questions might help you better understand why you are in the position you are in. also, the answers to these questions, might also help me better guide you psychologically. Good luck sole searching, I look forward to your answers.

Hi Beth - In response to your question about "Zoning in On Your Career" - sounds like you're looking to find the next 'right' career for yourself. And, you're dealing with the challenges of the economy and being a single mom. A couple of thoughts/questions:
-as you continue to explore new options, what is it that most excites and interests you?
-career exploration and change is a process - it usually does not happen overnight. what do you need in order to meet your needs while you consider other options?
-as you explore other options, networking is critical. talking to people who are doing things that you are curious about might answer the question "will I like this work if I do get in to it?"
-look for opportunities to 'test the waters' before you take a leap in to a new position. If there is a field you'd like to explore, can you work on a project in that area before you make a full-scale commitment?
Feel free to write back with more specifics of your situation and/or questions. Best, Julie C.
