A little about yourself...
I am the mother of two rockin' kids and one rockin' hubby-who is like a third kid. I helped to create MyWorkButterfly.com because I needed it as much as anyone else. My life has been forever changed by the amazing mothers that I have had the pleasure of interviewing and speaking with on Butterfly. Let's continue this journey together.

Here we are- officially one week into 2012.  Spill it! How many of you have already abandoned your New Year’s resolution? I confess, I ate like sh!t yesterday but hey, today’s a new day!

I checked out Flywheel™ in Millburn, NJ recently because it’s rumored to be the best indoor cycling and barre experience around (and I figured if I can’t get the eating thing down right this early in the game, I may as well get the exercise thing down). Flywheel™ and barre are truly amazing…

I’ve spoken much about mentoring since Butterfly’s inception in 2009 and how important it is to have someone who strongly influences you (for the better) in work and in life.  We are all mentors, in a sense, as we continue to be role models for our children, displaying hard work, drive and dedication.

As a mother, I hope to teach my children the value of a dollar and the value…

To Karla, there are a few things going on here for you to understand and I will also toss in some suggestions on things you can do to move yourself forward.

1- Momentum and inertia - Highly underrated but the deal is that you stopped your process that was obviously successful to go pursue other things.  Now that you're restarting your efforts, to some degree its harder than the first time and it probably is.  Anytime we stop something that has momentum, restarting is often times a bigger effort.  It's true for job seekers and it's true for business.  What does this mean for you right now? 1- acknowledge that it's going to "feel" bigger for a while and 2- don't allow that feeling overwhelm you, simple know that each day will get better.

2- Manage your expectations - You may think that in your restart that all your previous good business will simply manifest itself - or maybe not.  But, you need to make sure your expectations of yourself and what to expect are well managed.  You sound like you're having a hard time finding the "umpf" or motivation to get back at it to the same degree.  It could be that you have some expectations and when those are met, we get seriously bummed out ie: unmotivated.  Set down and write out your business goals and what your activities will be to get there and then do them.

3- Action = motivation.  Until you have established enough traction in getting your business restarted, you are going to have to rely on simply ensuring each day you are doing things that will get you shows booked.  After a while of doing that you will discover you are back to feeling motivated.  Motivation either comes from internal inspiration (like probably where you were when you first started) or comes from the act of doing.  Right now, you need regular action and perhaps someone to keep you accountable and upbeat until you can take the training wheels off.

If you have any more questions, feel free to email me.

You asked that I upload a blog about my entrepreneurial and parenting journey. I can write a piece on this network, but my blog, which should be connected via RSS, does not involve this type of subject matter. So, would you like me to write more under my profile...? I'm a little confused. Let me know.
