Hi Linda - Thanks for your note. Sounds like you're at an exciting part of your life - new field and training, pursuing a new professional path combining your interests and skills.

A couple things to think about:
-regarding combining Reiki and your writing/editing abilities - where do these two areas overlap? Who is writing books/website and other content on the topic? How can you help them with your editing and writing skills? Talk to your Reiki instructors and ask for their thoughts on this. And, get in touch with others in the field and bring up your services and value you can provide. You might be surprised what happens when you start talking about what you want.
-delving into editing in general, find the professional association for editors and look for a local chapter. It's good to network with people who are already in a field you're interested in getting in to. So Google "Editor Professional Associations" - I'm sure you'll find the organizations that meet in your area. You need to get exposure to the field you want to pursue and ask 'insiders' for advice, support and build relationships so you can eventually get referrals.
-you said you've been helping your friends with writing/editing for quite some time. Start charging! Let your own network know that you're starting to do this work as a business. And, ask for referrals.
