A little about yourself...: I am a 32 year old mother and wife. I live in North Carolina. I am originally from Indiana, though. I have been a stay at home mom for 7 years. I have worked for short periods through out that time, but for the most part I've been home with the kids.

It has always been my goal to have my own business. Narrowing down my interests and dealing with various events life has thrown my way has been the difficult part. So often I took the easy route and worked small jobs for other people.

I am now at the point where working for other people is not an option for me. I want to reap the benefits of working for myself. The ability to set my own hours and be in control really stands out for me.

I started my virtual assistant business at the beginning of this year. My company's name is Adia's Elements. I am currently working a customer service contract for a major cruise line. I also am a home decor and entertaining consultant. Adia is my middle name meaning "gift". And 'elements' come from the fact that there are varying parts of my business. I believe it takes different aspects of my interest to make my company what I want it to be.

Because I am new to being a small business owner, I am always looking to increase my knowledge of business ownership.
