Working Mom: The Indian Experience

Posted on January 25, 2010 at 12:21am 0 Comments

Hello, everybody! It's great to be part of such a wonderful network. Didn't know how closely connected we really are! I'm a Civil Servant and a writer, a wife and Mom. So, yes, it's a full day. Two of my novels were published last year. 'Toofani Days, Valentine Nights' is a multicultural romance set in Agra. It's available via… Continue

Hello Sharon. I have never been to India but I would like to go. I have written about the gender ratio in India and I am helping a women promote a documentary she is making about the issue. I'd like to meet some of the people I have interviewed in person.

Have a good day!

Hi, Terry! Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, starting an India Moms group or Government Moms group sounds great. I shall get my sister to join the bandwagon, too. She's married to an American and they live in Spokane, WA. I've visited the US several times and enjoyed each trip.
I'll get on the job of joining a group asap.

Have a wonderful day!
Ciao, Sharon

Hi Sharon,
Welcome to Butterfly! Thanks for sharing your story! You may want to start your journey here by joining one of our group (groups under members tab) to connect and network with like moms. Would LOVE for you to start a INDIA MOMS group or GOVERNMENT MOMS group. We have many moms here from India as well!

I would love for you to write reguarly about the experience of work/life for moms in India. It's interesting to know that you write that we face the same kind of challenges --because we truly believe that no matter who you are, whether celebrity mom, every day mom or single mom, we all have to deal with many of the same obstacles.

Each month, we feature a mom mentor video to inspire and empower the Butterfly community and to prove that we can achieve both personal and professional aspirations. Enjoy our exclusive January video with Dina Manzo of the Real Housewives of NJ as she speaks about running a non-profit, her daughter and mean girls, date night and finding time for herself.

Don't miss the resource editorial in health, finance and fitness, to name a few. Let me know if you have any questions.

Please take a moment to invite your circle of moms into the community by way of the invite tab. Enjoy the content and the conversation.
Best,
Terry, Co-Founder, Bfly
