A little about yourself...
I am a mother of 3 (8, 6 and 4 yrs) and married for 10 years. My 13+ years in the high school classroom taught me how much parents' influence or lack of influence has on a child. I also worked on an amzing project with a very good friend of mine, a start-up direct selling company where we worked with so many amazing people and accomplished more than I thought possible in 2 years! I believe in making our children feel loved, appreciated and valued.

What holds us back from doing what we really want to do?  Is it lack of motivation?  Is it lack of time? Is it lack of support?  The good thing about these, and most excuses, is that they are variables.  We can change them as soon as we want.  It's when we get fed up with things staying the same, is when we change.  It's when we look in the mirror and want a strong body, but haven't done enough to get it.  It's when we stand up and say, "Enough is enough!"

I believe that the…

Ears blocked

Heads down

Never looking up

Missing the trees

the boats

the sunrise

What a surprise.

Thumbs frantic

finding,

looking

for something

It is right here.

No smiles

No looks

some sleep

dressed for success.

Pink sky

grey sky

some wait for a better day.

naked trees

As I sat down this morning to write this, my first sentences read: I am happy to report that my butterflies are still going strong! The 3 that emerged a few weeks ago are flying, eating, and even look like they are socializing. I left this for a while - my morning got busy. I heard some rustling in their habitat; my stomach sank. We lost one of the 3 butterflies this morning. Yes, when we put it into perspective, it is a butterfly. For those of us who are reading this, know the butterfly is…

Hi Stephanie,
Welcome to Butterfly - we are thrilled that Pattie introduced you to our site! You truly are a role model to moms looking for alternate and flexible careers. Clearly with Maidenform that can be achieved!

You can continue your journey here by joining some of the many active groups like ENTREPRENEUR MOMS or DIRECT SELLING MOMS to connect and network with like-minded women (groups under members tab). Consider too starting a group of your own - click add a group in groups.

Enjoy the mentor videos such as September's featured interview with star of Real Housewives of NJ, Caroline Manzo! Caroline reveals her strong opinions about her cast-mates, her love of family and her journey in raising her respectful kids while launching a children's line of her own. Or, watch Michelle Workman, Interior Designer to many A-List celebs who shares advice on raising two boys while managing a business. Click videos and interviews to watch the dozens of fascinating women we've been lucky enough to sit down with: Gloria Allred and Lisa Bloom, Kathie Lee Gifford, Rebecca Lobo, Emme, Dina Manzo, Malaak Compton Rock and Jill Zarin, to name a few.

Feel free to leave your comments or to blog about your own work/life experiences. Enjoy the content in Volunteerism, Psychotherapy, Beauty, Health and Fitness, Money and Travel, to name a few.

Any questions just let us know and do take a moment to upload a pix and invite your friends into the community by way of the invite tab so that we can empower as many women as possible.

Best,
Terry & Bradi
