A little about yourself...: I am a mom of 3. my 6 year old has mild autism. I know we are blessed that it is mild, but that sometimes make thing harder. we were told many times he will "grow out of his issues" we now that he is 6 now, Doctors are finally hear us. We just hope it not to late.

He is nine now and was not formally diagnosed until he was 8, so hang in there...it's not too late! My son has anxiety issues as well and that just adds to it. It's not easy, especially when they do well in often many areas. My son does well in school (but last year he missed about a month due to his anxiety...and did partial days for a few months after that). Because he does well, they have been hard to work with in getting him the help he needs (which is minimal, but nonetheless important in helping him feel safe). We are on our way back up from a long time down. So I just wanted to say keep up the advocating for your son!
