A little about yourself...: I have been blessed to be a stay at home mom during most of my 12 years of motherhood. I have five wonderful children ages 12 to 4 years old, four of which are boys. One of my sons struggles with high functioning autism and I have learned a lot about so many things in dealing with the trials that come from his struggles. This past spring, I finally finished my Associates Degree! I plan on finishing my Bachelors through online schooling. In the meantime, I am growing a successful direct sales business as an Independent Consultant with Scentsy wickless, flameless candles and I love love love the training aspect of my job! In my past life I danced a lot and loved to mountain bike and scuba dive- all things I really would like to return to. For now, I am content with refereeing, waitressing, and juggling- all within the confines of my own home! When I get a chance, I do love to read, take Zumba classes at the local YMCA, and sleep (gotta fit that in somewhere!).

Does it make a difference when to join a direct sales company?

For the most part, when you join a seasoned direct sales company doesn’t make a huge difference. Some consider joining before the fall selling season to be a good choice. Other’s say get in while things are slow so you can be comfortable in your business before the busy season. The reality is the choice is up to you. Starting a direct sales business may seem like an easy thing to do, especially if it’s through a party plan company. All a new consultant (distributor, representative, etc.) has to do is have parties and then order the product. And who doesn’t want to have a party? With five kids and all but one in school during the day, my youngest tends to get quite bored.
