Another year has come and gone and still...

Congratulations! We are all still here to continue this journey we call life. I have taken some time these past two weeks to really sit and reflect upon my life and my hopes for my family's future. At the beginning of each year I always hope for a better understanding of things. I hope to make more friends. I hope to be a better mother, friend, child, sister, etc. The only thing is that hope is only a piece of the path to success. You have to go get it and make it happen.

So today, I have decided that the one thing that I want more than anything right now is to make more friends. Not just people that I can add to my friends list at social networking sites, but real people that I can call and talk to. Women that can appreciate and understand what I go through each day when I feel like a failure, and believe me when I say, I feel like a failure more often than I care to admit. I have spent so many years pretending that friendships don't matter as long as I have the love of my immediate family. For the most part, this is true. But sometimes, I need that adult female perspective.

I plan to share my story this year in my quest to seek friendship of everyone that I meet. I plan to followup and stay connected more. If you wish to offer me some advice, suggestions, and/or well wishes, please blog me. If you see me following on the way side, encourage me to keep trying.

Thanks,

So...what is the networking thing you mention on the 20th. Let me know. I am curious. Thanks for responding to my blog by the way.

I think your right. I know I need more "real" friends. As in people I can hang with, go play pool with, etc. And, I'm going to start with asking you to be my friend. I also have a great networking thing on the 20th of this month.

OK, so Lynne (PsyD) here reached out to me yesterday and I wondered why she did not ask to be my friend. Normally I would let it go and keep right on stepping. I did this yesterday. However, with my resolution in mind today, I have decided to reach out and see if she will accept my friend invite. Here goes. I will keep you posted.
