Knowing when to be flexible and when to stay firm is a mainstay of successful and happy people. There are times when it is in your best interest to stick to your guns and not budge an inch. These are times when your integrity, character and basic truth are in play. Other times, being able to bend the rules or accept a change in plans may be the smartest and easiest move for everyone concerned. These are times when you realize that “the best laid plans” may get in the way of what is most important. Sometimes, it is the simple act of completion that matters more than getting it perfect. Sometimes it is compromising what is at hand for the greater good. Compromise is a word that some people (like me), don’t really like, and yet, it is often in compromising that we create the most beneficial outcome for everyone involved. Relationship experts tell us that flexibility is one of the keys for creating great relationships.

Bending without breaking may require some practice, but when you get the hang of it, you will feel a sense of relief and even joy.

Get ready to bend. Now, that’s Powerful!
