Hello Everyone,

I know Terry and Bradi received a message from a member who was unhappy that they said farewell to Michael Jackson especially after all the medical coverage, and shared it with all of us. Well there are people who we don't know personally who gave us something in our lives to record memories forever in our mental rolodex or with other friends and or family.

I want to say a farewell to Mr. Walter Cronkite. For those of you who grew up in an era when journalists did have the courage to speak truths and give opinions without hurting others this is being shared for all. I was just a child, but I do remember listening to his voice and sitting around our television (black and white), looking at the astronauts go to the moon and looking at mom as she cried for J.F. Kennedy. Walter Cronkite wasn't stylish, or wore fancy clothes but when he spoke it was like E.F. Hutton, everyone listened.

He spoke with honor, truth and integrity. If he gave an opinion, he acknowledged first that it was an opinion, but he not offensive. Being a first rate journalist, he knew how to form his words to have people go hmmm, you could be right. As I stated I was a little girl, so I don't remember a lot, but even then listening to him and viewing him on TV, I didn't know all that was going on, but I knew that I liked that man. If I'm not mistaken, he use to end it with and "That is the News", or maybe it was another journalist. There were not a lot of them with that type of integrity, but there were a few, and believe it or not when their names were mentioned, you knew who they were.

I wanted to give Homage to a man who was part of my childhood and taught a lot of us, what truth in journalism truly was. He taught present and past.

Thank you Mr. Cronkite

I have very fond childhood memories of watching the news with my parents and learning about the world. Walter Cronkite definately brought alot of humanity to the news regardless of the severity of the situation.
Nice tribute! Thanks.. he's was a legend.
