Great Products for Kids and a Hug for Dad - Weekly Wings

School-age children begin to “check out” at this time of year. Half days, graduation parties, birthday celebrations, pool parties, field trips… while we’re tending to camp packing, vacation planning AND working… Anyone else exhausted?!?

Somehow in the midst of it all, I managed to sneak away for an amazing event this past week hosted by Big City Moms, called The Biggest Baby Shower. And, while I am not expecting (two, I admit, is all that I can handle), I did attend with the hopes of eliminating a shopping excursion for you because it has been said, we need more time!!

For moms with babies AND toddlers- I was immediately drawn to HOLD ON HANDLES™. When I introduced myself to Susanne Budofsky, Co-founder of this ingenious product and mom of TRIPLETS, she immediately said, “I’m a Butterfly mom …so great to have a place that supports working moms!” Check out www.greaterthanonekids.com to see how you can keep your small children within arm’s reach.

There’s a cool baby carrier on the market called the Snugli™ that allows mom to carry baby on front, back or hip. I loved the lumbar support that distributes weight for comfort. How I wish this product were on the market when my kids when babies- I swear my back still hurts!

When I spotted the Doodle Wheel™, I thought, “what will they think of next?” But, I couldn’t help but to smile as I was checking out this fun and quite unique product. Doodle Wheels™ are customizable reflective hubcaps for your baby stroller. I kid you not. Go nuts- jazz up your baby’s ride!

How I would have LOVED to feed my children organic baby food when they were young! In 2011 you can… Happy Baby™ organic baby food is cleverly packaged, offering three stages for a growing baby. Note: I was hungry on my way home from the event so I decided to sample Happy Baby’s™ banana-kiwi while in my car. SO good and definitely took the edge off!

Now for the dads! In honor of Father’s Day, a special nod to the full-time stay-at-home dads who, according to the most recent 2006 census data, is 159,000 in America. (Clearly needs to be updated!). I hear a Texas researcher estimated this number to be closer to 2 million! In any event, do enjoy the special men in your life, and in your children’s lives, this Father’s Day.

Warmly,
