Why might cosmetics provide confidence for interviews, client meetings or when one returns to work?

Women have always had a love affair with makeup. That’s because they know that it makes them feel like a better version of themselves. Whether it’s concealer that hides a few too many sun spots or the lengthening mascara that makes your lashes look like your six-year-old daughter’s, makeup is like a body shaper for your face. When applied in moderation, it smooths the imperfections and highlights your best features.

Do you have any time-saver advice for the hair?

Showering at night is helpful. That way you can quickly flat iron any bumps or make little touch-ups without taking too much time. Dry shampoos are also a mom’s best friend. If your hair can handle not being washed everyday, a dry shampoo powder can refresh your hair in less time than it takes to wash and style it. As far as color/style goes, there are no rules anymore when it comes to length. Plenty of women over 40 now keep their hair long and it looks chic. The two caveats? Keep hair split-end free with regular trims and avoid any sort of frosting which can instantly age you.

What is the best color/length nail for work?

In general, nails should be well groomed and kept short. If you are dialing your phone with your knuckles I think it’s time for a manicure. You can’t go wrong wearing pale pinks, beiges and creams although in some industries, like fashion or entertainment, wearing a dark, vampy shade is equally acceptable.

What beauty products are in/out?

As far as new technologies, there’s high definition makeup which is meant to make your skin look flawless in any light and high-tech gizmos that offer clearer skin, a better shave or younger looking skin.
