Working Mother's Social Network | MyWorkButterfly

Hi Everyone!

It is May 11th,2009, and I just joined the network. I am a 31yr old stay at home mom. I have an 8yr old daughter, and a 10yr old son. I was going back to school this past fall, but I had to stop due to our daughter being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and having to care for her, take her to numerous appointments, and just try and deal with this new life we were now faced with living. She requires 3 insulin shots a day for the rest of her life, and has to count carbs, watch her fat intake, and of course limit her sugar intake. Thank goodness for Splenda! You can only imagine how difficult it is to tell an 8yr old thay can no long have most of the things she was used to having. Not to mention, she LOVES food! So although it was hard at first, we are adjusting and trying to keep her as healthy as possible.

I hope to meet lot's of other mom's around the globe, and maybe some who have young children with Diabetes.

Miranda: Apologies for the delayed response - I had an extremely busy week and am still not quite connected 24/7. Welcome to MyWork Butterfly and Love Chocolate group. We are not in Canada yet, but do have sugarfree chocolate for your daughter if that is something she craves occassionally. Email me at mvkchocolate@yahoo.com for more information if you like. I saw Maya Angelou last week and she left me with a couple comments: Be a rainbow in somebody's cloud, see the rainbow in your clouds! You are the rainbow in your daughter's clouds.....
