Love and the Olympics

Never before have we seen a greater display of love than at the 2010 Winter Olympics opening ceremony where 82 nations came together at BC Palace in Vancouver. Tribute was paid to a fellow Olympian, Nodar +!@#$aritashvili,, who died during a luge training crash hours earlier. Our prayers go out to his family and to the millions of Olympians who
risk so much for the love of the game.

Let’s give a shout out to the Canadian women's hockey team who set an Olympic record Saturday night with an 18-0 demolition. And, to the moms who compete every year in the Olympics giving new clarity to the phrase, “we can do it all.” Natalie Nicholson is one such mom who spends most of her time taking care of her daughter and as a nurse practitioner in Minnesota. Today, Nicholson, age 33, is an Olympic athlete for USA’s curling team. Nicholson joins two other moms in BC, making curling the most mom-friendly sport in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Take a moment and watch these awe-inspiring athletes with your kids. It’s wonderful proof that they can achieve anything in life and that moms again, can work and play hard.
