Memorial Day and Sex and the City 2 - Weekly Wings

As Terry and I sit in our respective Memorial Day destinations (I’m at the beach with the family while Terry is poolin’ it with her kids and hubby at a neighbor’s annual bash), we wonder how all of you have chosen to spend your much-needed extended stint. Do tell! We know how one new Butterfly member, Lisa Singer, celebrated her holiday… with Taylor Swift and with her dear friend Jackie Levine. We handed Lisa TWO tickets to Taylor Swift’s concert in DC for inviting in TEN new Butterfly members in record time. Welcome to all of you and thank you to Lisa for helping to grow the Butterfly community of smart and savvy return –to- work and working moms (or moms who simply want to keep up on all of the possibilities of what may be).

Here are some “honest” MyWorkButterfly blogs of the week from two Butterfly mom members who tell it like it is:

1. My Boy Likes to Party All the Time by Kristy Lorenzen. Kristy reveals just how difficult it is to keep up with her son Parker at a family BBQ, diarrhea, keg pumping and all!
2. My Bad by Julie Cole. Julie accuses herself of spitting out an “empty threat” towards her kindergarten daughter and shares the guilt she endured as a result.

In the vein of being forthcoming, it was SO amazing to watch the breakdown of Charlotte during her alcohol induced therapy session with Miranda in Sex and the City 2. Charlotte finally admits that life as a mom is no “walk in Central Park” while “legal eagle” Miranda quips that she needs more than motherhood to make her happy. So as not to ruin it for the rest of you… you’ll love to witness how Miranda gives the finger, so to speak, to her employer. SATC2 is no Blind Side or It’s Complicated but it’s certainly worth a go-see.
