I have had my hands full for a couple of days as my daughter is down with Mumps [thankfully a mild case].

Her brother, my eldest had Mumps almost at the eve of his 4th Birthday about 5 months ago, but luckily it was mild.

My girls is has been restless and with seriously fluctuating temperatures for several days,

For the last couple of days I was just so sure her body temperature was unusually high, but the doctor said other wise – he said her body temperatures was still within the normal temperature range for humans.

And whoa I discovered the swelling/lump last night when she continuously kept on scratching the back of her head.

I went back to the doctor today and alas he said she had Mumps, and gave Antibiotics to prevent any secondary infections and also recommended Children’s Paracetamol and Vitamin C.

I hope my little girls heals fast enough, I hate seeing her so stressed and uncomfortable.

Go ahead a PM your addy if you like- All of my kids have little bottles of hand santizer that is not alcohol based that I have stressed to them that they need to use through out the day. Also I made teacher gifts with a hidden agenda-I sent all bottles of hand santizer with cute little says on them. I will try and post pictures on here so you can see them. IT was fairly inexpensive to do and ALL the teachers and students love them... ;-)

Thanks for the comment La Donna.
My girl is getting much better and is running around like crazy.
I just wonder how we can protect out kids from this childhood ailments that are spread around schools/playgroups. The funny thing about Mumps is that a child is infectious even before the swelling shows, so there is no way a parent can even prevent other kids in school from getting the infection as they themselves don't even know their kid has an infection. How nice of you to want to send a get well card. I am so pleased, feel free to send one, my daughter's name is Thea.
