Palin and Our Public Apology
Thank you for all of the kind words you have shared in regards to our Weekly Wings. It is so rewarding to hear that you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them. We do need to publicly apologize to one member of the community who wrote to tell us that she was deeply offended by our tribute to Michael Jackson and in honoring his legacy. If you felt similarly, then we truly apologize to you too. Was it weird that he had young boys sleep over? Hell yeah! Was it even more bizarre that they slept in his bed? Absolutely. But, we can not say, without a shadow of a doubt, that he was guilty of anything other than wanting to be loved. In fact, we feel sorry for him for having to administer the level of drugs he took in order to go about his daily life. His best friend was Bubbles the chimp for g-d sake, but it doesn't take away from the joy his music brought to the lives of so many. Opinions make the world go round. They do not make us lesser mothers... just moms with a voice, and that's a good thing.
One such mother who will no longer have a "voice" is Sarah Palin. Now that she has resigned we are down to six women governors around the country... out of fifty. Pathetic huh? Terry and I personally didn't care for her as a politician and as role model to moms, it was still nice to see a woman in office. She didn't embarrass me as a woman as much as Clinton would have embarrassed me if I were a man. Unfortunately, Sarah stands out because she is a minority, while Clinton in fact blends. So, for all of you moms out their that are into politics, run for office... run like hell and make us proud!
So maybe you're not into politics, but your into something else, now there's is a place for you to shine too~ MyWorkButterfly's Marketplace.
