When much of the world seems to be in turmoil, and the airwaves bombard you with doom and gloom and the people around you are getting caught up in it too, what’s a girl to do? Say the Serenity Prayer. This has nothing to do with religion. It has everything to do with faith and hope. The Serenity Prayer goes like this: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.” Acceptance, Courage and Wisdom; these are the basis of faith and hope. When faith and hope abide in you, you can handle pretty much anything that comes your way. Saying this prayer at least once in the morning will build a sense of strength and ease within you. You will become more hopeful and be able to let the doom and gloom bounce of you, because you will be surrounded by a shield of faith and hope, goodness and serenity. Your shield will rub off on the people around you and they will feel more calm and peaceful simply by experiencing your presence. This prayer is a gift to them and to you, for it is a reminder that serenity is your birthright. Say it now; say it often. Now, that’s Powerful!

The Serenity Prayer
“God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can
and wisdom to know the difference.”
- Reinhold Niebuhr
