Shari Bilt Boockvar, Registered Dietician, Nutrition Counselor, Consultant And Founder Of Nutrifacts Inc. Offers Career Advice

Do you have any advice for women who want to return to work as a Registered Dietician or Nutritionist? What resources might you share?

If they would like to start a private practice, I would recommend Networking as much as possible. Meet and talk with friends, physicians, personal trainers, speech pathologists … anyone and everyone who may be a referral source. Also, don’t attempt to be a specialist at everything. Pick an area of nutrition counseling that you would like to make your area of expertise. Additionally, decide what types of nutrition counseling and/or consulting you would like to do. The options are endless.

You can also visit the American Dietetic Association at www.eatright.org or call them at 1-800-877-1600. www.nutrifacts.com
