Shout Out to Teachers and Mommy Bloggers! - Weekly Wings

A shout out to all of the Teachers within the Butterfly community! Thanks for devoting yourselves to our children this past school year and for filling their heads with little known facts about the Boston Tea Party and the Solar System and with mathematical equations that do not involve finding the sum of iPod touch applications! Enjoy your summer and take the time to create some “History” of your own with your kids instead of ours.

As we read through the daily Butterfly blogs we consider all of you to be “Teachers” in your own right. We’ve learned much from you and are proud to share your insight with the others (share, share, that’s fair):

1. Boni, aka, Coach’m Up Boni, unveils “7 Ways to Upgrade Your Resume!
2. Betty Osborn ends her blog, Not Enough Hours in the Day with a simple, thought-provoking phrase.
3. Stephanie Williams, author of
Mommy Leadership: How to Use Your Motherhood Experience to Grow as a Leader writes, Recognize the leadership skills we already use … children are not the only fruits of motherhood.”
4. Julie Cole wants to know if you trust your husbands with your babies. Find out why Julie’s hubby may not be trustworthy in her Butterfly blog, “Is Daddy Safe?”

Read the blogs. Ruminate over them. Then, write one of your own. Share one morsel of information, a simple suggestion, bit of advice or ounce of frustration so that we can all be teachers.

Kim Rucker & Lisa Wexler

In July you’ll be able to watch exclusive videos with Butterfly Mom Mentors Kim Rucker, SVP & General Counsel of Avon Products and Lisa Wexler, Host, Live with Lisa radio show and author of Secrets of a Jewish Mother. Two accomplished mothers who share their own personal journey in following their dreams in and out of the home.

Become inspired and enjoy the Fourth of July!

Best,

Thanks Stephanie -- there is no doubt the critical role that teachers play in shaping our children!! (Btw, July 9th is SO late!! In FL, children are out as early as late May/early June...that has to be tough).

It has been a long school year. (My kids are still in school until July 9th!) Every year I appreciate my childrens' teachers more and more as well as all teachers. It is such a tough, tough job and oh so critical to the success of our children (our future leaders). I was thinking just yesterday what small token of appreciation I could give my son's teacher. I sat in her class one day (at my son's request) so I know first hand she deserves many kudos! It's almost over! Phew!!! By the way, thanks for the shout out!!
