The Adventures of Mz. Mom--Mad Mom’s Outrageous Mother Moment by Traci E. Alexander

Livid Mom Madlyn Primoff Leaves Squabbling Daughters Roadside Then Drives Away

Friday April 24, 2009

It’s almost impossible to concentrate to drive while two bickering children are engaging in verbal warfare in the backseat of the car. Haven’t you had this unnerving experience, almost propelling you to make good on that promise? You know the one, “If you guys don’t stop that fighting I’m going to put you out of this car!”

For sure I coninue to endure those crazy mommy moments when my seven year-old daughter and three year-old son are in combat, over absolutely nothing, in the backseat of my SUV, while I am trying to drive—safely. How do I know it’s nothing? Because when I ask them, “What is all the commotion about?” Not one child seems to remember or recall quite exactly what happened.

Well you’ve probably already heard the recent news about how furious mother, Madlyn Primoff actually made good on her promise by kicking her two pre-teenage daughters out of her car in the busy city of White Plains, NY, and then drove away 3-miles to her home in suburban Scarsdale. Apparently, Primoff stopped long enough just to let the 12 year-old back inside when she ran back to the car but left the 10 year-old behind. A stranger witnessed the teary-eyed younger daughter then called White Plains police, after buying her an ice-cream cone.

As of today, Primoff a prominent Park Avenue attorney was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. A few days ago she pleaded not guilty and was released on bail. A temporary order of protection was issued but has since been suspended.

Yes, we all have experienced such thoughts of insanity and moments of madness when our children act unruly, untamed and just ridiculous--but how many of us have literally taken action and kicked the kids out of the car? What do you think about Primoff’s impulsive reaction? Should she be penalized for her actions or should she get a pass?

Share your adventure and tell us how you handled that moment of madness!
