The Latest in “Unemployment Fashion”

Being one of the many who have joined the ranks of the unemployed, I thought I would write this piece of how to dress WHILE you are unemployed. Not for the interviews, but for you…This is a terribly difficult time of self-evaluation and reflection. Lord knows I probably spend 90% of my day pondering what my next step is (thank g-d I have MyWorkButterfly.com to guide me!), which is quite exciting and terrifying all in the same thought. Fade to daydream…. I think I should be a talk show host who interviews regular women who have fab stories to tell- I just need to figure out how to “break into” that little biz…huh.

But enough about me for just a moment. Sadly, I am not the only soul out there who has lost her vocale during this mess of an economic climate. So how are we supposed to act? Or rather, and certainly more importantly..How are we supposed to DRESS??? I say dress for success! No I don't mean a stodgy old suit, I mean dress for your personal success- success as the fabulous person that you are. Wear beautiful color..Wear sexy heels..Wear a feather boa...Wear whatever it is that makes you feel good about yourself! We learned in nursery school that loving yourself is fundamental in building who you are-well loving how you look follows the same philosophy (holly crap, I think my therapist just took over my being...okay, I am back). So I say dress for who you want to be, not for the situation that you are in. I am planning to wear my most fantastic leopard heels to drop my kids off at school because I don't want one moment of my day to be distracted from who I intend to be....how about you? write a comment below about how you intend to weather this storm one fabulous piece of clothing at a time.
