What do you dream about?

Now that 2010 is here, many of us are thinking about our plans for the New Year. I often wonder if this year will be the year that I do the things I often think about doing but never seem to get around to doing them. What do I dream about? We'll it is my dream to write a book. I have all of these ideas in my head but have never seem to get around to making any real progress. I want to write a book on careers in HR for college students. I have done volunteer work with the College Relations committee of an HR association I belong to. So I have had opportunities to do workshops, career days, and other events where I talk with students about HR careers. At those times, I always wish I had my book ready and able to recommend......but I don't.

I have about 5 other book ideas that I have at least written down the main idea for. But it has yet to materialize into a book.

I also dream about finally taking ice skating lessons, and taking a dance class. I ice skated for the first time last year and was terrible. I said I would take lessons with my daughter, just for fun. That was a year ago... and I have made no progress. Actually, I did contact our area rink to get the information. But that was it.

Sure I can blame not having enough time. I work full-time, travel for work, and balancing this with family, church and a few other endeavors. But there is something about this year, 2010, that makes me believe that this is the year to start really working on my dreams. I don't consider myself a procrastinator. I think I am simply guilty of putting everyone's dreams ahead of my own.

Is it just me? Or do others have dreams that are still outstanding? I would love to hear about it. Perhaps we can encourage each other to MAKE IT HAPPEN this year.....
