What’s for Dinner? Get a Meal Plan!

It’s 6:00 P.M. You’ve been going full-steam since 6 A.M. Your spouse and kids are circling the kitchen like jackals around a road-kill. What’s for dinner, they ask? You don’t have a clue but your choices seem to be boiled down to Mac and Cheese or Take-out Burritos. Don’t worry, we can help. This has happened to all of us but there is an easy solution. Get a Meal Plan!

A Meal Plan is a time-saving, money-saving and stress relieving tool that a family can use. At Rubbingnickels.com we have a creative meal plan packed full of recipes for those who love OR hate to cook. The philosophy is simple. Create a plan so that you: 1) have healthy ingredients on hand for quick meals or, 2) can swing by the grocery store easily and pick up only what you need. If you don’t want to make your own plan, try out ours. Here’s our Two-Week Meal Plan that we’ve based all of our website recipes on:

Week One:
Sunday – Pasta Night
Monday – Meatless Monday
Tuesday – Soup/Stew and Bread Night
Wednesday – Easy Night
Friday – Fish or Fowl
Saturday – “Smorgasbord” Night (use your leftovers with supplements)

Week Two:
Sunday – Casserole Night
Monday – Meatless Monday
Tuesday – Soup/Stew and Bread Night (make a different soup than Week One)
Wednesday – Easy Night
Thursday – Entrée Salad and Bread
Friday – Carnivore’s Choice
Saturday – Eat out! You deserve it.

You’ll notice two things about our plan. The first is that we let you eat out every other Saturday. The reason for this is that we wanted to make our plan as money saving as we could. If you have more resources, you can add another restaurant day to our plan. The second is that we have made Wednesday an Easy Night. If you visit our website, you’ll find a guide to the best choices that you can make if you need to “whip something up,” including DiGiorno Harvest Wheat Thin Crispy Crust Supreme Pizza (whole grain and veggies), Jennie-O Frozen Turkey Meatballs (make a good meatball sandwich), Rosetto Cheese Ravioli (pair with a salad) and Breakfast for Dinner (eggs and toast with fruit is a totally balanced meal).

Adopt our plan, reduce your kitchen stress and visit us at http://rubbingnickels.com/frugal-family/in-the-kitchen to choose from recipes that fit into the meal plan. We promise you’ll save time and money!
